Ask why they are leaving. Then answer them.

A buyer about to leave this training company’s pricing page gets one question. “The price” leads to a budget question and a pilot sized to the answer, “not sure it fits” leads to a demo booking, and “just looking” ends there. A week later the page remembers what they said, and does not ask again. Switch the visitor below to see every path.

How it works

A survey that asks only when it matters, and answers every path.

01

Ask on the way out

Exit intent on the pricing page, once per visitor. The first question is the same for everyone and takes one click.

02

Branch on the answer

Each follow-up is set to “ask only when” an earlier answer calls for it, and can name what the visitor read or the industry their company is in.

03

Answer back, now and next time

Each path ends on its own screen — a pilot, a booking calendar — and the answers stay on the profile for the next visit’s campaigns.

Under the hood

How Personyze runs a survey that knows when to stop asking.

01

It asks on the way out, and only once

The survey opens on exit intent on the pricing page and is capped at once per visitor. “Just looking” ends it after the first question, so nobody is made to explain themselves twice.

02

The second question depends on the first

The budget question is set to ask only when the answer was “The price”; the demo question only when it was “Not sure it fits”. Two visitors take the same survey and see different second questions.

03

The wording uses what is already known

“Compliance training” comes from the course pages the visitor read; “retail” comes from the company an ABM integration resolved. A fallback word covers visitors with neither.

04

Every path ends with an answer

A budget of $1,000 or more ends on a free two-week pilot. “Yes, a demo would help” ends on a booking calendar with the person who runs retail customers’ training.

05

The answers are kept, and passed on

Each answer is saved as a field on the visitor’s profile and sent to the sales team by email and to the CRM as it is given.

06

A week later, the page remembers

The survey is never shown again to someone who answered it. Instead the banner, the hero and the plan card all point to the pilot they were offered.

Questions

Questions about this example

How does the survey decide which question comes next?

Each follow-up question is set to ask only when an earlier answer calls for it. Here the budget question appears only after "The price" and the demo question only after "Not sure it fits", while "Just looking" ends the survey after the first question.

Can a survey question include something about the visitor?

Yes. A question can show an earlier answer, the score so far or a visitor detail, with a fallback word for visitors where it is unknown. In this example the budget question names the courses the visitor read, and the demo question names the industry of the company an ABM integration resolved.

What happens to the answers afterwards?

Each answer is saved as a field on the visitor's profile, where any campaign can target it, and can also be sent by email, webhook, Zapier or to a CRM. That is how the pricing page leads with the pilot a week later, and why the visitor is never asked the same survey again.
