How it works

Built with Personyze — in three steps.

01

Detect

Personyze identifies each shopper by CRM profile, past behavior, and browsing signals in real time.

02

Decide

Rules and the recommendation engine pick the right categories, products, and offers for that shopper.

03

Render

The homepage, offers, and blog update live — no page reload, no developer.

Under the hood

How Personyze personalizes this coffee chain.

Every element in the demo is driven by a real Personyze capability. Here’s what powers each part.

01

First-Time Visitor (Anonymous)

When a new user lands on the site, we lack specific history. To maximize relevance, the personalization engine defaults to a "Best Sellers" strategy combined with IP Geolocation. The hero shows a general welcome with order-ahead, the grid shows popular drinks and a croissant, and new members get a free drink on their first app order. Learn about Website Personalization

02

CRM Targeting (Loyalty Regular)

For the logged-in user or recognized cookie, the system pulls data from the CRM. We know this loyalty member orders a flat white most weekday mornings. Explore Recommendation Engine

  • Hero Banner: Changes to "Good morning, Alex" with a one-tap prompt to reorder "The Usual".
  • Product Grid: Shows their favorites — Oat Milk Flat White, Double Espresso and Almond Croissant.
  • Offer: A rewards nudge: one star away from a free handcrafted drink.
03

Daypart Targeting (Lunchtime Visitor)

It's 12:40pm and this visitor is near a store. A time-of-day rule, combined with their detected location, triggers the lunch experience. See Behavioral Targeting

  • Action: The homepage switches to lunch: sandwiches and grain bowls ready for pickup, plus any sandwich and a drink for $11.
  • Goal: Turn a lunchtime visit into a pickup order by showing food that is ready now.
04

Content Personalization

Personalization isn't just for products. To build authority and trust, we dynamically inject relevant blog posts. New guests see menu and pairing guides, loyalty regulars see how to earn stars faster, and lunchtime visitors see new grain bowls and high-protein lunches. This keeps users engaged longer.

Technical Summary:
This demo utilizes real-time user segmentation. The content (hero images, product grids, and coupon codes) is swapped dynamically using the Personyze WYSIWYG Page Editor, Promotion Manager, and Recommendation Widgets, based on the detected "Persona ID". In a live environment, this is handled by Personyze's server-side or client-side injection logic.

Questions

Questions about this example

How can a coffee chain personalize its website by time of day?

In Personyze you create an audience with a time-of-day (daypart) rule, optionally combined with the visitor's detected location, and give it its own hero, menu picks and offer — for example food and a lunch combo after noon.

How does Personyze recognize a loyalty regular?

When loyalty or CRM data such as usual order and points balance is passed to Personyze for a logged-in or recognized visitor, rules can target it to show a one-tap reorder and a rewards nudge.

What does a first-time visitor see in this example?

With no history, the site shows a broad popular menu and a new-member welcome offer, using only the visitor's detected city.
