Email Personalization

One template.
Every inbox different.

Send your campaigns from Personyze, or paste one block into the emails you already send — either way every recipient gets their own products, content and offers.

Blocks render at the moment of opening, so stock, price and behaviour are current even a week after the send. Send through us with per-recipient send times and frequency caps, or keep your ESP and paste one snippet.

G24.8 Capterra4.6
Two ways to run it

Send it from Personyze, or paste it into what you already send.

Same recipient profile, same recommendation engine, same reporting. The only question is who puts the email in the inbox.

Sent by Personyze

Build the campaign here and send it

Newsletters, lifecycle journeys and promotions, composed in the same visual editor that builds your on-site personalization.

  • Sent over Amazon SES with nothing to configure, or your own SMTP under your domain
  • Per-recipient send times learned from when each person actually opens
  • Frequency caps and fatigue suppression counted across every campaign, not inside one
  • Subject line, sender and content tests with the winner promoted mid-send
  • Audiences from your CRM, a file, a scheduled feed, on-site capture or the API
Best when you want the whole campaign, the audience and the reporting in one place.
Sent by your ESP

Paste one block into the template you have

Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, SendGrid, Marketo, Salesforce — anything that sends HTML keeps sending it. Personyze fills the block.

  • One HTML block, pasted once into the template — not into every campaign
  • Swap the placeholder for your platform’s email tag and every future send is personalized
  • Blocks render at the moment of opening — live stock, current price, this morning’s behaviour
  • The same block works in order confirmations, newsletters and win-backs
  • Fallback content for recipients you do not know yet, so nothing arrives broken
Best when the sending stack stays exactly where it is and only the content gets smarter.
Both at once is normal

Most teams move newsletters and lifecycle campaigns to Personyze and leave transactional mail in the ESP with a block pasted in it. One recipient profile feeds both, so caps, segments and reporting still line up.

Use cases

Why open-time

Send time locks content. Open time keeps it live.

Most ESPs personalize at the moment of send — whatever data was current then is what the recipient sees, even if they open the email a week later. Open-time rendering keeps every block fresh until the recipient actually looks.

Send-time personalization

Content locks when the email is queued

What the customer sees was decided minutes, hours, or days ago.

  • Inventory may be sold out by the time they open
  • Prices may have changed — promo expired or stock cleared
  • Recommendations don’t reflect what they did since send
  • Apologies for stale promos · broken UX
Open-time personalization

Content renders the moment they look

Whatever’s true at open is what they see — not what was true at send.

  • Live inventory — sold-out items auto-swap for similar
  • Real-time prices — current promo, current stock
  • Latest behavior — reflects what they did this morning
  • Always relevant · even a week later

Step 2 — Purchase event

Marcus buys a 65″ Samsung TV

When the order is placed, Personyze fires a purchase tracking event — linking Marcus’s email to the TV he just bought. This is the data that powers his recommendations.

Send-time optimization

Each send fires when that recipient is most likely to open — learned from their own past behavior.

Global frequency caps

Set “no more than X marketing emails per week”. Enforced across all campaigns — never per-campaign.

Fatigue suppression

Auto-pauses recipients showing fatigue signals (declining opens, dismissals) before they unsubscribe.

The send model

What makes one fire, and when it lands.

An email campaign here is not a one-off blast with a date on it. It is a standing rule that fires per person, for as long as you leave it running — so the timing controls matter more than the send button.

What fires it

Five ways to start

  • When they matchA standing audience, checked on every batch pass. The email finds people as they become the person you described.
  • When a visit endsThey browsed, they left, nothing happened. The follow-up writes itself from what they looked at.
  • When the cart is leftItems still sitting there, and the email carries them.
  • After they buyThe post-purchase note — the care instructions, the refill, the thing that goes with it.
  • When a form is submittedTied to one specific form, so the answer arrives while they still remember filling it in.
When it lands

Timing that suits the reader

  • Wait, then sendAnything from a few minutes to a year after the trigger.
  • At an hour that suits themPick the hour, and it lands at that hour in the recipient’s own time zone — not yours.
  • Never on a SundayA weekday mask per campaign. Whatever day your audience does not want to hear from you, tick it off.
  • And only while it is liveA start and end date, outside which the campaign quietly sends nothing at all.
How often

Caps, gaps and a speed limit

  • Once per person, unless you say otherwiseThe default is one send per recipient, ever. Someone who matched in March and got the email will not get it again when they match in September.
  • A minimum gap when you raise itAllow three sends and you still set the days between them, so a repeat campaign cannot arrive twice in a morning.
  • A speed limit on the way outNot faster than N messages a second, a minute or an hour. A hundred thousand recipients do not hit your sending reputation in ninety seconds.

It tells you if nobody matches, before you send

The QA step sends a test to whichever address you name, resolves every substitution for one real recipient so you see their name and their products rather than placeholders — and tells you whether the audience currently resolves to anybody at all.

Which is the difference between a campaign that is live and a campaign that is working.

And the click comes back to your site

Links carry a tag, so the people who came from this email become an audience on your website — not just in the email report, and not just in that session.

Greet them differently on the landing page. Suppress the pop-up they have already been offered. Follow the ones who read it but did not buy.

FAQ

Direct answers. No fluff.

Sending from Personyze, pasting a block into your own ESP, and what happens in production. Send anything else our way and we’ll answer fast.

How does email personalization with Personyze work?

You build one email template in Personyze. Each block in the template references attributes from the recipient’s profile — CRM data, on-site behavior, last purchase, location, weather, firmographics. When you send, every recipient gets a different version assembled from their own data.

Recommendations are AI-generated per recipient. Subject lines, hero blocks, CTAs, and product picks vary by segment. The result: one campaign that reads like it was written for each person individually — typically 30–60% higher CTR vs. one-size-fits-all.

Do I keep my existing ESP, or replace it with Personyze?

You can keep both. Personyze sends marketing emails directly from our platform — under your domain, via Amazon SES or your own SMTP server. Your existing ESP can stay for transactional notifications (order confirmations, shipping updates, password resets), or you can move everything to Personyze.

Audience and behavior data flow in from HubSpot, Salesforce, Segment, Shopify, and 12+ other platforms — so you don’t have to migrate your CRM to switch your marketing email sender.

Most teams move their newsletters and lifecycle campaigns to Personyze first — setup typically takes under an hour.

How does open-time email personalization actually work?

Most email tools personalize at send time — the moment the email is queued, content is locked in. Personyze personalizes at open time. When the recipient opens the email, the embedded image request fires to Personyze, and we render fresh content based on the latest data: current inventory, today’s price, the recipient’s most recent behavior, even local weather.

The same template can produce dozens of different rendered emails depending on who opens it and when.

Which email platforms does it work with?

Personyze open-time blocks work with any ESP that accepts HTML emails or merge tags. That includes Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, SendGrid, Iterable, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Constant Contact, Brevo, Omnisend, Drip, ConvertKit, AWeber, Customer.io, Braze, and many more.

You keep your existing send infrastructure — Personyze adds the open-time personalization layer on top.

Do I need a developer to set this up?

No. The whole flow is a wizard. You connect a product feed or content source, design the recommendation widget visually, and Personyze generates the HTML snippet. You paste it into your email template once — replacing the placeholder with your ESP’s email merge tag (*|EMAIL|* in Mailchimp, {{ email }} in Klaviyo, etc.).

After that, every send is automatic. Same snippet works across order confirmations, newsletters, win-back campaigns — everything.

How does the widget know who is opening the email?

The HTML snippet contains your ESP’s email merge tag in the URL. When the email is sent, the ESP substitutes the actual recipient’s email address into that URL.

When the recipient opens the email, the image request hits Personyze with that email. We look up that user’s profile (purchase history, browsing behavior, segments, location, etc.) and render the appropriate content in real time.

What happens if the recipient’s email is not in our database?

You define a fallback when you build the widget. Personyze renders default content for unknown recipients — typically your top sellers, trending products, or featured content based on segment.

Recipients always see something relevant, never a broken email.

What’s the difference between email personalization and email automation?

They’re complementary, not competing. Email automation is about when and to whom messages get sent — workflows, drip sequences, triggered sends. Email personalization is about what’s inside each email — the subject line, copy, product recommendations, images, prices.

Personyze focuses on the personalization layer and works with the automation tool you already have. Your ESP triggers the send; Personyze decides what each recipient actually sees when they open it.

Can I A/B test subject lines, content, and sender names?

Yes. Run A/B tests across subject line, sender name, email body content (any block), or send time. Set the traffic split (50/50 or any custom percentage), let Personyze track opens, clicks, conversions, and revenue per variant, then auto-promote the winner once statistical confidence crosses your threshold.

Multivariate (A/B/n) and holdout tests are supported in the same UI — no separate testing tool required.

Will personalization break my emails on Outlook, Gmail, or Apple Mail?

No. Personyze renders to standard HTML email — tables, inline styles, web-safe fonts. We test against Outlook 2007–365, Gmail (web/iOS/Android), Apple Mail (macOS/iOS), Yahoo, AOL, and Samsung Mail using Litmus and Email on Acid.

Personalized content degrades gracefully: if a recipient’s mail client blocks images (rare — about 3% of opens), they see your fallback content instead of a broken layout.

Does it slow down my emails?

No. Personyze’s rendering infrastructure is global CDN-backed with median response under 200ms. The image loads asynchronously alongside other email content — recipients don’t notice a delay.

We monitor render latency and serve fallback content instantly if a render takes longer than threshold, so your emails always look complete even under failure scenarios.

How fast can I launch an email campaign?

If you already have an email list synced (or uploaded as a CSV) and you’re familiar with the email wizard, you can launch a personalized campaign in a few minutes: pick the template, choose your audience segment, drop in recommendation or content blocks, preview each variant, and hit send.

From a brand-new account, expect about 30 minutes for your first send — most of that is connecting your data source (CRM sync, list upload, or feed URL). For more complex setups (multi-step trigger flows, custom CRM fields, transaction-triggered automations) plan on a few hours, or schedule a free implementation session with our success team.

Can I use my own design and brand fonts?

Yes — every block is built from standard HTML/CSS. Use the visual editor for fast iteration, or drop in your own custom HTML and inherit your existing email template styles. Brand fonts work via web fonts (where supported by the mail client) or graceful fallbacks.

Does it integrate with my CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce)?

Yes. Personyze plugs into HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho, ActiveCampaign, and any CRM with a REST API or webhook. Push CRM data (deal stage, lifecycle, account tier) into Personyze and use it to personalize email content. Or push email engagement events back into your CRM so sales sees the full picture of each lead.

Does email work with the rest of Personyze?

Yes — email is one channel of the same platform. Coordinate journeys with push notifications, and fill every send with personalized recommendations.
