How it works

Built with Personyze — in three steps.

01

Detect

Personyze identifies each shopper by CRM profile, past behavior, and browsing signals in real time.

02

Decide

Rules and the recommendation engine pick the right categories, products, and offers for that shopper.

03

Render

The homepage, offers, and blog update live — no page reload, no developer.

Under the hood

How Personyze personalizes this site’s navigation.

Every element in the demo is driven by a real Personyze capability. Here’s what powers each part.

01

First-Time Visitor (Default Menu)

When a new user lands on the site, we lack specific history. To maximize relevance, the personalization engine defaults to a "Best Sellers" strategy combined with IP Geolocation. The hero keeps a simple welcome, the menu leads with broad, popular items — Shop, New, Best Sellers and Help — and first-time visitors get 10% off their first order. 02

Behavioral Targeting (Returning Shopper)

For a recognized visitor, Personyze reorders the navigation based on behavior. We know this shopper browses fashion and beauty, so those departments — plus deals and reorders — move to the front of the menu. Explore Recommendation Engine

  • Hero Banner: Changes to a "Welcome back, Maya" greeting with a Continue Shopping prompt.
  • Product Grid: Shows the departments now pinned to her menu — Women's Fashion, Beauty & Skincare, and her deals and reorders.
  • Offer: An extra 15% off in the categories she shops most.
03

CRM Targeting (B2B Pro Account)

This visitor is recognized from CRM data as a business account. A CRM rule replaces the consumer menu with pro tools. See Behavioral Targeting

  • Action: The menu switches to Bulk Order, Quotes, Reorder, Invoices and Account, and the homepage leads with bulk ordering, quotes and order history.
  • Goal: Put procurement tools one click away and surface NET-30 terms on bulk orders.
04

Content Personalization

Personalization isn't just for products. To build authority and trust, we dynamically inject relevant blog posts. The new visitor sees getting-started guides, the returning shopper sees tips and deals for her favorite departments, and the B2B account sees guides on bulk reorders, volume pricing and team orders. This keeps users engaged longer.

Technical Summary:
This demo utilizes real-time user segmentation. The content (hero images, product grids, and coupon codes) is swapped dynamically using the Personyze WYSIWYG Page Editor, Promotion Manager, and Recommendation Widgets, based on the detected "Persona ID". In a live environment, this is handled by Personyze's server-side or client-side injection logic.

Questions

Questions about this example

How does Personyze personalize a website's navigation menu?

You define audiences (for example new visitors, returning shoppers who browse certain departments, or B2B accounts flagged in your CRM) and, for each one, use the no-code editor to reorder, highlight or replace menu items. Personyze shows each visitor the version for their audience.

What data decides which menu a visitor sees in this example?

A first-time visitor with no history gets the default popular-items menu, a returning shopper's browsing behavior pins their favorite departments, and a CRM record marking the visitor as a business account swaps in procurement tools.

Can I test a personalized menu against the original?

Yes. Personyze A/B testing can run the personalized menu against the default for the same audience so you can measure its effect before rolling it out.
