Under the hood

How Personyze personalizes this beauty store.

Every element in the demo is driven by a real Personyze capability. Here’s what powers each part.

01

First-Time Visitor (Anonymous)

When a new user lands on the site, we lack specific history. To maximize relevance, the personalization engine defaults to a "Best Sellers" strategy combined with IP Geolocation. The hero welcomes every shopper, the grid shows trending best sellers across skincare and makeup, and new customers get 20% off their first order. Learn about Website Personalization

02

CRM Targeting (Skincare Loyalist)

For the logged-in user or recognized cookie, the system pulls data from the CRM. We know this user has ordered skincare three times, most recently a Vitamin C serum. Explore Recommendation Engine

  • Hero Banner: Changes to "Your Glow Routine, Restocked" with a prompt to reorder favorites.
  • Product Grid: Shows serums and treatments that complement her routine — a niacinamide serum, a gel cleanser and a barrier repair cream.
  • Offer: A replenishment offer: 15% off her Vitamin C refill.
03

Behavioral Retargeting (Color Enthusiast)

This visitor hasn't bought anything yet, but their Browsing History shows they viewed lipsticks and palettes more than 3 times. This triggers a behavioral rule. See Behavioral Targeting

  • Action: The homepage is dynamically rebuilt around color — new shades, a pigment palette, a bold plum lipstick and a brush set.
  • Goal: Turn repeat browsing into a first order, with a palette + brush bundle at 25% off.
04

Content Personalization

Personalization isn't just for products. To build authority and trust, we dynamically inject relevant blog posts. New shoppers see routine and shade-finding guides, the skincare loyalist sees articles on layering actives and retinol, and the color enthusiast sees makeup tutorials and trend pieces. This keeps users engaged longer.

Technical Summary:
This demo utilizes real-time user segmentation. The content (hero images, product grids, and coupon codes) is swapped dynamically using the Personyze WYSIWYG Page Editor, Promotion Manager, and Recommendation Widgets, based on the detected "Persona ID". In a live environment, this is handled by Personyze's server-side or client-side injection logic.

Questions

Questions about this example

How does Personyze personalize a beauty store?

It groups shoppers into audiences — new visitors, repeat buyers identified from CRM or order data, and browsers who keep viewing a category — and shows each one its own hero, product recommendations, offer and articles.

Can Personyze send a replenishment offer to past buyers?

Yes. When purchase history such as the last product ordered is available to Personyze, a rule can target those customers with a refill or reorder offer, as the skincare-loyalist state does here.

What happens when a shopper keeps browsing one category without buying?

A behavioral rule (in this example, lipsticks and palettes viewed more than 3 times) rebuilds the homepage around that category and adds a bundle offer.
