Buyer’s Guide

The Best AI Website Personalization Software

AI now does two different jobs in website personalization: it chooses which version each visitor sees, or it builds the version for you. This guide sorts the leading tools by which job they do, what you still decide, and who each one is built for.

AI personalization does one of two jobs

Most tools in this guide do one of these well and the other a little. Knowing which you need decides most of the shortlist.

When AI chooses

The older and more common kind. Adobe Target’s Auto-Target picks among “marketer-defined experiences”, and Webflow Optimize says: “Create your own variants, then let AI Optimize make real-time decisions about which audiences see what content.” You still write every version, so the AI can only be as good as the options you give it.

When AI builds

Newer agents write the experience too. Kameleoon’s PBX builds variants from a prompt, Wingify’s AI “writes the copy, picks the proof, swaps the imagery”, and Personyze’s AI agent builds a whole campaign — targeting, design, placement and timing — and stages it. The question to ask is who approves what goes live, and how much of it you can read and change first.

How to choose AI personalization software

Compare the tools on what their AI actually does on your site, rather than on how much of the page mentions AI:

01

Chooses, or builds

Whether the AI only picks between versions you write, or also writes the targeting, the copy and the design.

02

Who approves going live

An agent that drafts and waits, one with a level of autonomy you set, or one that publishes by itself.

03

What it can read

Behaviour, location and source for anonymous visitors, and your CRM or company data for known ones.

04

Where it runs

Any site through a script, natively in one CMS, or only as part of a larger suite.

05

How you measure it

A held-back control group, not a before-and-after chart, and results per audience.

06

What the AI costs

Included, metered in credits, or only in a premium tier. Check it before you compare list prices.

The best AI personalization software

Grouped by the job their AI does, and ordered within each group by fit for a mid-market team without developers to spare. Facts are from each vendor’s own pages in November 2026; prices change, so the tiers here are coarse.

AI that builds the experience

Describe a goal or a change in plain words, and an agent drafts it.

Best for an agent that builds whole campaigns and waits for your approval

Personyze’s AI agent works inside your account. Describe a goal and it writes the targeting from plain words and reads it back to you, picks a design from a gallery of 450+, reads your live pages first so the campaign uses your colours and fonts, places it and sets the timing. New campaigns are shown only to staging visitors; going live is always a person’s decision. It can also write a version of your own pages for each audience and works from the panel, from WordPress admin, and from AI assistants that support MCP.

Strengths

  • Plain words compiled into targeting rules you can inspect
  • Builds in your site’s own look
  • Never publishes to live visitors by itself
  • A free plan; every plan includes monthly AI tasks

Limitations

  • The in-CMS agent is in WordPress today; Shopify is next
  • Native app SDKs and the headless API are on the Enterprise plan
02

Kameleoon

Best for describing a test or personalization and letting the AI code it

Kameleoon’s agent, PBX, finds ideas, generates front-end and back-end variants from prompts, and helps set targeting, traffic and goals; you can view and edit the code it writes. Its personalization builds real-time segments with AI that predicts each visitor’s intent, and allocates traffic with multi-armed and contextual bandits.

Strengths

  • Prompt-to-variant agent on any website
  • Intent prediction for segments
  • Bandit traffic allocation
  • A published entry price and a 30-day trial

Limitations

  • Personalization is an add-on to the Starter plan; advanced personalization is Enterprise-only
  • Starter caps traffic at 50,000 users a month
03

Wingify Personalization (formerly VWO Personalize)

Best for choosing how much the AI does

VWO’s site now leads to Wingify, which says VWO and AB Tasty have come together, and VWO’s personalization runs as Wingify Personalization. Its AI reads signals “even for visitors with no profile and no login”, ranks options against your goal and writes the copy and imagery. “Personalization can be fully yours, fully AI, or anywhere in between” — and you get the last word.

Strengths

  • Works for anonymous visitors in real time
  • AI drafts; a person approves
  • No-code editor
  • Free for 30 days, no card

Limitations

  • No published prices; every plan is by demo
  • Lower tiers cap concurrent campaigns (Growth 3, Pro 5)
04

Optimizely Personalization

Best for enterprise teams that want AI agents beside their CMS and testing

Optimizely builds real-time audiences from on-site behaviour and swaps images, headlines and promotions per visitor with no coding. Its Agent Platform adds ready-made agents — a Personalization Strategist, a CRO Manager, ideation agents — that analyse a site, propose hypotheses and recommend what to test next.

Strengths

  • Pre-built agents for ideas, strategy and test setup
  • Stats Engine for results
  • Web and feature experimentation alongside
  • Part of one CMS and testing platform

Limitations

  • “Every Optimizely plan is individually packaged”: no published prices
  • AI use is metered in credits
05

Insider One

Best for large consumer brands that want an agent across web, app and messaging

Insider is now Insider One, an agentic platform covering a customer data platform, personalization and journeys across web, email, SMS, WhatsApp, app and push. Its agent, Agent One, “plans, decides, creates, orchestrates, and optimizes what happens next”, while teams set the outcomes, guardrails, brand standards and level of autonomy.

Strengths

  • An agent that works towards a goal you set
  • Adjustable autonomy per channel
  • Web personalization inside a cross-channel platform

Limitations

  • No published pricing or trial; demo only
  • Web personalization is one part of a large platform

AI that chooses between experiences

You build the versions; machine learning decides who sees which.

06

Webflow Optimize

Best for marketing sites, on Webflow or not

Optimize combines traditional A/B testing, rules-based personalization and AI-powered optimization: you create the variants and its AI decides in real time which audiences see which. It runs natively on Webflow and on other sites through a JavaScript snippet; Enterprise plans connect Salesforce, Marketo, HubSpot, 6sense and Demandbase for account-based targeting.

Strengths

  • Works on any CMS through a snippet
  • AI picks the variant per audience
  • ABM and firmographic targeting on Enterprise
  • A published entry price

Limitations

  • Sold as a paid add-on; the self-serve tier allows 5 concurrent optimizations
  • CRM and ABM integrations are Enterprise-only
07

Adobe Target

Best for enterprises already on Adobe Experience Cloud

Target Standard covers visual A/B tests and rules-based targeting. Target Premium adds Automated Personalization, which “uses advanced machine learning to match different offer variations to each visitor”, Auto-Target and Recommendations. Its AI skills can set up A/B, Experience Targeting and Recommendations activities.

Strengths

  • Machine-learning activity types
  • A recommendations engine (Premium)
  • AI skills that set up tests
  • Part of Adobe Experience Cloud

Limitations

  • The AI activity types need the paid Target Premium licence
  • Its AI skills cannot create an Automated Personalization activity
08

Dynamic Yield

Best for large retailers that want personalization, recommendations and discovery in one place

Now part of Mastercard, Dynamic Yield’s Experience OS delivers 1-to-1 personalization, segmented behavioural targeting, testing and recommendations, and Shopping Muse adds conversational product discovery. It runs through a site script, a server-side Experience API, or both, which its docs recommend.

Strengths

  • 1:1 personalization and testing together
  • Recommendations from browsing behaviour
  • Client-side, server-side and mobile SDKs

Limitations

  • Implementation needs developers: product feed, page context, events
  • Built for retail and ecommerce first
09

Bloomreach Engagement

Best for ecommerce brands that want the site tied to email, SMS and app

Bloomreach brings customer and product data, 17+ channels and analytics into one platform, with web as one channel. Web personalization uses real-time browsing, predictive models and its Loomi AI to choose banners, offers and recommendations; a Marketing Agent turns a single prompt into a workflow.

Strengths

  • Site personalization linked to email, SMS and app
  • Predictive models
  • No-code banner templates, plus an HTML editor

Limitations

  • “Starting at $60K a year for smaller brands”, billed annually
  • No public rate card
10

Monetate

Best for global and regulated-industry brands that want managed help

Monetate’s Symphony suite provides AI product recommendations, social proof, dynamic bundles, a product finder and audience targeting across web, mobile, email and in-store, and MONET is an AI assistant for designing campaigns and setting up tests. Expert Services and a Concierge programme run it with you.

Strengths

  • Recommendations, bundles and a product finder
  • An AI assistant for campaigns and tests
  • Managed services
  • Pages for finance and healthcare

Limitations

  • No published pricing or trial
  • Strategy often runs through its managed services

Frequently asked questions

What is AI personalization software?
Software that uses AI to decide or build what each visitor to a website sees: the headline, the offer, the products, the call to action. Some tools use machine learning to choose between versions a marketer wrote; newer ones have an AI agent that writes the targeting, the copy and the design as well, and stages it for a person to approve.
What is the difference between rules-based and AI personalization?
Rules-based personalization shows a version to a segment you define, such as visitors from paid search or on a phone. AI personalization finds the pattern itself: Webflow Optimize describes its AI mode as one that automatically discovers audience patterns and shows the variations that convert best for each segment, adapting in real time. Most teams use both.
Can an AI agent change my live website by itself?
It depends on the tool. Personyze’s agent builds every campaign in staging and never publishes to live visitors; going live is a person’s decision. Wingify says you get the last word, and Insider One lets teams set the level of autonomy per use case and channel. Ask each vendor what its AI can publish without you.
Does the AI cost extra?
Often. Adobe Target’s AI activity types need the Target Premium licence, Optimizely meters AI use in credits, and Kameleoon sells personalization as an add-on to its Starter plan. In Personyze every plan, the free one included, has a monthly allowance of AI tasks, and showing a campaign to visitors never uses it.
How do you know whether AI personalization works?
Compare it with a group of visitors who did not get it, not with last month. Adobe’s Automated Personalization keeps sending a small share of traffic to explore other offers, and Kameleoon uses bandit algorithms for the same reason. Personyze can test any campaign against a held-back control and reports the winner per audience.
Does AI personalization work for anonymous visitors?
Yes, from what the visit itself shows: source, location, device, the pages read and the products viewed. Wingify says its AI reads signals even for visitors with no profile and no login. Company and CRM data, where you have them, add more to go on, and Personyze can use both.

Describe the campaign. Approve what it builds.

Ask Personyze’s agent for a welcome offer, a recommendation row or a page rewritten for one audience, and decide what goes live.
