One of the many novel uses of Personyze’s powerful recommendation engine is to show the most relevant content possible for each visitor, by using the engine to power which reviews, case studies, or logos are seen, based on user data.

Dynamic Reviews for Products

To show dynamically generated product reviews on a site, we would have a feed of reviews which contain IDs for the products they correlate to, and relevant data about the reviewer.

The result is that each visitor sees reviews from other users similar to them, based on whatever variables we set for the recommendation.

Personalized Product Reviews Example

For example: a visitor from London looking at a woodcraft chair will see reviews from customers who bought the chair in London, or as close as possible, if we set the recommendation to select for location.

These reviews are displayed in widgets which are completely customizable HTML, so look natural with the page, and can be on product pages as well as others like the home page after they’ve shown sufficient interest in the product, such as by adding it to cart.

How It Works

This is possible because Personyze both knows which reviews in the site’s review feed correlate to the product ID of the product being viewed, as well as the GPS coordinates of the location/city of each reviewer.

In real time, the recommendation engine automatically finds which reviews for the same item have the nearest coordinates to the current visitor, and shows them.

Steps to Get There:

  1. Set any targeting – this part is optional as with all recommendations, and is only relevant if you want to show the recommendations to a limited audience, like those who have never made a purchase.
  2. Select display type – This is how the reviews will be displayed, which is usually embedded in the page, but could also be as a popup or form. It can also include interactive elements in its design, such as arrows to scroll through the reviews.
  3. Upload the review feed – This can be a one-time upload of a spreadsheet file, or be a live feed in the form of RSS or public spreadsheet URL to be synchronized with. Feed needs to include columns for each review including product ID, city, country, and ideally GPS coordinates, as well as anything else you might like Personyze to base its recommendations on, such as CRM variables like role in company or industry, if known.
  4. Sit back and watch – Personyze’s recommendation engine will automatically show the most relevant reviews or other content, based on the similarity of the review’s variables to that of the person viewing it.
